1. 저자 : IEA 2. 개요 : Many countries are facing serious challenges as a result of the lingering global economic crisis. At the same time, all nations share a responsibility to ensure their energy sectors become more sustainable and more secure to manage the risks and impacts of climate change. Over the coming decades, energy efficiency, many forms of renewable energy, carbon capture and storage (CCS), nuclear power, new transport technologies and more efficient use of fossil fuels will all require widespread deployment. The need for action is urgent, but drastically changing energy infrastructure and end-use equipment on a national scale is a complex and expensive undertaking. Careful planning is required to ensure that limited resources are devoted to the highest-priority, highest-impact actions in the near term while laying the groundwork for longer-term improvements. Every major country and sector of the economy must be involved. To help turn political statements and analytical work into concrete action, the International Energy Agency (IEA) is developing a series of global roadmaps devoted to low-carbon energy technologies. Roadmapping, used for decades in technology-intensive industries, has emerged in recent years as a tool to help address complicated issues in a strategic manner at national, regional and global levels. Roadmaps achieve consensus on lowcarbon energy milestones, priorities for technology development, policy and regulatory frameworks, investment needs and public engagement. As such, roadmaps can provide solid analytical footing that enables national policy makers and industry to develop specific technologies. The IEA roadmaps can inform more detailed roadmaps with a regional, national or sectoral focus. Drawing upon the IEA’s extensive experience, this guide is aimed at providing countries and companies with the context, information and tools they need to design, manage and implement an effective energy roadmap process. The IEA hopes that this guide and the examples and references it offers, will help national and local policy makers and industry to develop strategies that accelerate the deployment of low-carbon energy technologies worldwide. 3. 출처 : wwww.iea.org/papers/roadmaps/guide.pdf |
